The monthly pass makes it a bit better for me.
Essentially, in pretty much every gatcha game the monthly pass is always (usually by an enormous margin) the best $:pulls ratio. Same with GFL2, it's $5/mo and gives 2,400 CP. That's like 10x better than the "I need CP now options".
So, since I'm saving up for Leva, I'll pick up the monthly pass every now and then. And every time I do, I get 300 "free" (in that I'd buy the pass without them) tokens. So every now and then I just get a skin as gratis. I got the Klukai and Makiatto skins like that.
Doesn't save you any money, but it does make it a little more palatable, imo.
