Help me decide between these two ideas I have for a puzzle:
Idea 1:
>book cases will block some doorways
>in front of a blocked door, there will be a pedestal
>if you place a book onto it, the path will open
>if you remove the book, the path will go back to being closed
>there are limited books, so you will need to go back to previous areas and remove books from previously used pedestals
>but you have to be careful, or else this could block your way forward

idea 2:
>turning the medieval book wheel thing will rotate all of the bookcases in the room
>this will cause some paths to be blocked, but others will open
The entire library is a maze that is made up of hexagon shaped rooms (the library is referred to as The Hive). I don't want it to be a simple "walk around the maze" part so I'm adding some sort of small puzzle throughout.

Or should I just do both ideas? One is already implemented, the other is just plugging events and rotating things.

There is one easy-ish puzzle near the end, it's a "put the objects in the right spot" puzzle, which opens a portal to the Council Room of the library, which then leads to the next area. But I think it'd be a good idea to have a few puzzles leading up to that point so players know that this area is a maze/puzzle and not just another area (since many areas in the game are purely exploration/walking)
