Sonic Prime is better because it's clearly not canon and in it's own, weird continuity. Is it a good show? Fuck no, even though it's tempting to call it better than satAM. But at least people can brush it aside and can mostly act like it doesn't exist for the most part.
The same can't be said for IDW since the comic desperately wants to be canon, but it's completely impossible when the comic series is perpetually stuck in the Sonic Forces time period. Also it's impossible to ignore IDW Sonic, since Twitter and other sites are filled with IDW fans or at least mention one of the OCs.
