So if your game is online only and you decides to stop your servers, basically robbing people of the paid product, you have to release open sourced dev tools/server build/etc, so people who bought the game had an ability to host their own local servers and you can't copyright strike them for infringing your IP.
You still can shot down these servers if you decide to come back, if I understand correctly.
What is really interesting is it affecting non games products with online components? For example grill with Wi-Fi connection, that need a server connection to cook sosigs? Because yes, anyone who had bought thus is absolutely retarded, but you can't just release trap products and stop servers after a year.
