Im gonna put my tinfoil hat on and actually say... modern developers (pic related) don't write it like that anymore because they think it's embarrassing. As in, they feel embarrassed when they actually try to immerse themselves into this fantasy world and write "in that silly fantasy videogame manner of speech". Like they can't commit 100% to the make-belief world and have to constantly insert some joke, quip, or modern speech to make it less "cringe", to kinda "tone it down" and bring it back to the "real" world where everything is serious. Am I crazy?
