The problem is that genshit is permanently fucked because the "self-insert" character is a gay looking faggot in a crop-top.
The game treats (You) like it's a game with a character creator and were the main character aka (You) is mostly mute, but they doubled down on this hard by still trying to develop both Aether and Lumine into actual characters instead of self-inserts, but they never went all the way in either direction, so now were stuck in this mess.
Literally only shipniggers and faggots that unironically self-insert into Aether can win.
