There was no Halo on PC and therefore no Halo multiplayer. It makes sense in that case that there would make a multiplayer mode for PC for that version. In CE Anniversary's case, Halo Reach was the relevant game at the time and the multiplayer even more so. You wouldn't want to splinter the player base. If this remake exists, then you wouldn't want to splinter the player base for Halo Infinite multiplayer. If anything, I bet they might take a similar approach to Anniversary. They might give you a bunch of cosmetics to use in Infinite Multiplayer and there will probably be an option in-game to launch Infinite multiplayer from.

It is a remaster, because if you go into Halo 1 Anniversary they literally have trees that don't match the hitboxes of the classic graphics, shit not lining up- because every bit of geometry, code and design was all Halo CE running as the basis, with a graphics and sound layer on top. There is no middle of the ground term here in this industry unfortunately, so as it stands, yes, these are remasters. It's actually pissing me off how badly these two terms have fucked over virtually all the discussion on the topic because they're interchangeable and have nothing in-between. The Raidou Kuzonoha "remaster" is functionally a remake because they basically built an entire new thing from the ground up, but they call it a remaster because it didn't try to re-invent the game, meanwhile that Metal Gear Solid Delta "remake" may very well be doing what Oblivion Remastered did by using a UE5 graphics and gameplay layer on top of the PS2 / Master Collection code, functionally making it a remaster by industry standards, but that's not marketable, so it's a "full-fledged remake!"
