Allow me to educate you. I'll put this very simply.
It's not a "preference" thing. It is one being strictly better than the other at that point.
Did you play MKX? They had traditional SF inputs as an option in that game's interpreter. Literally no one used them, not even SF players.
Because... there was no reason to. It was more travel time for the exact same move. It was an inherent disadvantage. There was no plus side to having them over the other.
This was not a "whatever you're comfortable with" thing. One was just actually straight up worse.
If motion controls are just tacked on as a useless extra feature, then they might as well not even be there. Even SF6, the actual party masher, still has a reason to use motions over modern mode.
It's not a matter of skill. It's a matter of effiency. If you have the option of a ghetto hoopty or a sports car to get to the same goal and they get the same gas mileage, why would you pick the niggermobile?
