The climate change meta is shifting and its going to make /pol angry but I thought yall should hear it from me first
> Surface temperature was never the main issue
We're absorbing ~1.9 W/m2 more energy than we emit
That's the equivalent of 7 Hiroshima bombs every second
Almost all of it is going into the oceans
Loeb et al. (2024) lays it out: Earth’s Energy Imbalance (EEI) is the real climate redpill. Not temperature. Temp lags. EEI leads. It tells you how much heat is stacking up now, not how warm it feels on land.
> the climate science community has reached a tipping point and are quietly moving on from temperature targets But governments and media still stuck in the old script
If you think climate change isnt real because "muh its hot in the summer or its cold it the winter", you’re not watching the right metric.
> It's not about warmth anymore
It's about earths energy imbalance
