I've never understood that decision. It weighs almost twice her con and there's not even any armored units in that chapter, or the next one I don't think. Usually I just give her a slim lance and throw it in the convoy, where it sits until the end of the game.
I still use her anyway though, it's not like FE8 is so hard that I can't spare a deployment slot for my waifu.
