It depends if you like political intrigue. If not, and you have no interest in giant robots either, then it might get kind of boring. That said, the bl can be pretty great, and it does deserve respect for pairings like charma (as one of the biggest og fandom pairings of our fujo forebears in the east) and Gundam Wing (simply for introducing bl as a concept to many in the west)
