Why would they ever cut budgets for their cash cow game? Ever since the WoW exodus they were in such an amazing position to really grow XIV and become *the* best MMO. Even when they were starving EW for content people still had a lot of goodwill due to how the game wrapped up with 6.0. Come 7.0 and the game lore has been fucked over, the battle content is so fucking stale and all they can think of is "Let's do more savage content!".
