WoW has its own limitations like being unable to grant you more than 16 bag slots in your main bag and no more than extra four bags for your additional bag space. Those are issues hardcoded into the game that the devs cannot solve in any way. The problem of FFXIV is that it has many more such issues and they affect more things than just how much inventory space you can dedicate to a single character. In fact, I am willing to believe that WoW housing in its vanilla state will be better than FFXIV housing, but the usage of mod tools like Makeplace and Burning Down The House definitely elevates it far beyond anything that WoW could muster via clipping of items into one another to produce completely different things.
