JRPG’s have never been about doing no damage runs. One of the contentions some anons have about a game like EX33 is that having a dedicated button to both parry and dodge takes away the damage RNG that you can build around. You can make a tank build in that game if you suck at both those things but the game expects you to master your reaction times. On the other hand a game like Metaphor, dodging relies upon the AGI stat to do that job for you. And outside of Heismay it is inconsistent because avoiding all damage isn’t the goal of the game or most JRPG’s. FF7 Remake is a JRPG before it’s an action game which means avoiding all damage was never the point. And before some nigger posts some autistic no hit run of remake I don’t fucking care. 99% of the people who play this game including the extremely good hard mode autists were not avoiding all damage. That’s one of the big reasons why parry was an interesting addition to Rebirth. And even in that game there’s just unavoidable damage. I think the only boss I successfully no damaged was Titan because he plays more like souls type enemy due to his move set.
