What? Fulfillment? FULFILLMENT? WHO THE FUCK NEEDS FULFILLMENT? I JUST NEED TO FILL MY EMPTY VOID OF A HEART WITH POINTLESS ESCAPADES AND ADRENALINE VENTURES UNTIL THE END OF MY DAYS, WHERE I'LL CLOSE MY EYES IN A VIDEO-GAME AND SAY "WELL THAT WAS FUN, TOO BAD IT'S OVER" LIKE I WAS PLAYING A FUCKING VIDEO-GAME.
That's sad. Sonic is a sad, pathetic character. If you want me to give Sonic a dream, let it be anything. Literally anything. Anything is better than nothing.
In my personal opinion, giving him the dream of being a hero, or having some sort of status. That'll at least give him some character for further arcs. Make him learn to yearn, not the hedonistic "want", YEARN. Make him regret his actions when he fails. Make him think "I could've done better" so he can improve instead of the stagnant "I did the best I could". Make him feel responsible for others, and then blame himself when they get hurt. THAT is someone I can respect.
It's silly to say Sonic is "at the end of his character arc" when he lacks so many of the basic things that make a human being respectable.
