Outside of the fact that mech technology has totally jumped the shark making the era very unfun to play, ilClan is a fundamentally poisoned storyline. It's premise is based on a retarded concept (Dark Age), which was made worse by a retarded retcon (Jihad) and was then willed into being with the most bullshit Clan Wolf fiat story, where all of the disparate Wolf factions put aside their frankly irreconcilable differences and, with their yiff powers combined, defeated the Jade Falcons by virtue of Kahn Hazen being such an evil child abusing retard that she couldn't beat the awesome might of the furforce.

The Spheroid stuff is interesting, a Kurita with both a questionable claim to the throne and a vagina meaning she's going to have a shit load of internal enemies, the Lyrans getting Free Worlds League'd which will be interesting to see how they get out of that, and Liao going on a wining streak but now having an insane Chancellor again. Good stuff with story potential. But because everything is revolving is going to have to revolve around the ilClan, it won't be able to live up to it's full potential. I also don't trust the current team of writers to make the story feel "Battletech-y" if that makes sense.
