I have had no bad luck with them, other than not getting the eggs in time to hatch before. I've found almost a dozen eggs, but most were dead or otherwise empty. The last ones that hatched had a failure to thrive and didn't make it. I'm pretty sure some babies have also hatched in-situ and not made it. The parents were both wild caught and supply of them in general is very limited. They are very shy and can hide very well. When I first got them, I could go a week without finding them, and that was looking like every day. Incubating the eggs is just putting them on a cool shelf and watching them for a few weeks. The male has always been slightly older and lethargic, but I've had the pair for over a year now so that's good enough for me.

They're almost like permanent hatchlings, except not quite that bad. I've got a pair in a 40Gal terrarium that I just fill with plants in a 'bioactive' setup. I throw in a small tub of black soldier fly larva in every so often. They pupate and the chams eat the flies. That can last several months. Every so often I'll throw in some supplementary crickets. It may not be the "best" care, so either I'm doing something right, or they aren't as fragile as it seems. One thing I think helps is I have a fan that if it gets too humid, like 90-95 or more, it runs until it isn't.
If you can get the setup right with misters, lights, fans, then it's very easy. Getting the setup right might take a bit of research and cost. Make a fun environment with some good plants and drop them in. The biggest reason they aren't super common I think is they lay 2 eggs in a clutch and not 40.
