The social conventions of discord are what annoy me like nothing else as well. It leads to extremely unhealthy narcissistic, terminally online behavior. I'm great at it but ideally you used the internet to get away from this in the real world, not try to fit into a thousand high school cliques all over again.

The insane, sociopathic and mentally ill will dominate server topics and most things on the platform are treated as a social competition with the hidden and locked away nature of servers not helping. It's terrible. The platform is conducive to quick spats of rapid, low quality throwaway conversation while being awful at replacing the type of discussion forums were for and yet it's the only option for most communities with the current state of the public net.
