I can bite if you want. Horizons MCs have very clear goals: in the first season Liko wanted to learn more about Terapagos, while becoming stronger because she's a very indecisive child. It's a coming-of-age story plot with mystery elements. Roy wants to catch the Shiny Rayquaza he has admired since he was a kid, and since he fails to catch it multiple times, he wants to be stronger to do so. It's the same "Pokémon Master" goal as Ash, with a different spin because AS ASH DISCOVERS DURING THE LAST JOURNEYS EPISODES, being a Pokémon Master is different for everyone.
Now, in the second season, they have the goal of stopping Exceed/the Explorers from spreading the Strong Spheres they have made with Rakurium that hurt Pokémon. They're also trying to figure out where Friede is, now that he's alive. Again, pretty simple plot with very clear objectives.
