The entire point is that he's the Dark Sonic! But apparently, he must do the job so well that everyone wants him to just be the NEW Sonic! It's like all his fans forget that he's just a Sonic clone character, and that's crazy. The entire appeal of Shadow is that he is SONIC. He's cool because he's SONIC. He's edgy because he's SONIC.
We don't need a literal Sonic clone to hedge-hog the spotlight all the time. Shadow shouldn't be over-Shadowing everybody else so much. It just ends up feeling like "okay here's Sonic... now here's the COOLER Sonic!!! Alright, that's peak, we don't need anybody else", and that's just tiring.
He really shouldn't be grouped in with the Core cast so much. He has his own space already, why are they shoving him into Team Sonic?!
