Thinking about it now it almost feels like maybe this was from part of earlier dev time when it was intended for the characters to acknowledge more of the stuff with Black Space (like the black letters dialogue).
That, or it could be Sunny's subconscious failing again to keep Black Space out of the way of his world. Never letting it be so prominent that he can't ignore it as unimportant NPC dialogue but just being present enough that he can't push it away. Like an infection that keeps returning.
I kinda hope Omocat actually does make a remake/rerelease in 10 years that makes the game more polished/expanded, nice as it is now I still keep thinking about what could've been.
