All whining aside, the fact of the matter is, it's not a bad thing for games to have an option for highly skilled players that put many hours into getting better to be able to apply that skill directly to achieve results without there being an immediate answer to counter them. Ignoring all the obvious ways there are to counter sniper the children in these threads conveniently ignore, even if there were no hard counter to a really good sniper that you could pick to immediately neuter their ability to do their job well, sniper is still balanced by virtue of needing lots of skill and practice to play consistently well. Let alone to the god-like level all the crybabies here demand be the assumed baseline for a sniper's performance, despite even "easy headshots" on slow heavies still being easy to miss for even decent snipers. If someone puts hours into practicing sniper to hone their skill at the class, yes, they deserve to be able to do well in a way that there is no easy way for the enemy to counter, especially because even a fair example of the performance of a good sniper is not infallible. What happened to TF2 players hating on Overwatch for it's "rock-paper-scissors, you picked X so I can pick Y to undo everything you do" gameplay? Now that's the kind of gameplay we want TF2 to have? This soldier is too good at rocket jumping, I can't hit him and he just escapes before I can even kill him and that's if he doesn't bomb/market garden me and instakill me. Valve, please add a tractor beam so I can pull them out of the sky and smash them into the ground, otherwise rocket jumping is LITERALLY uncounterable; the amount of skill involved is a non-factor. Demanding players have options to neuter a highly skilled player's capability to do well so that everybody gets a chance for kills no matter what is like asking for there to be reinhardt shields in quake so good players dont drive by insta meatshot you until you've decided you're ready to be vulnerable.
