>the Roman Empire fell within 100 years of Christianity
Pretty sure the Byzantine Empire was around until the 15th century
>western Rome fell within a century
It’s true. Even though the intellectual elite had converted to Christianity, most of the common public were uneducated pagans who had come to live decadently and lazily while their lands and possessions were being taken by outside invading forces.
However, within a few centuries, people organized around the basis of Christian kings who ruled as patriarchs of their specific ethnic groups. This gave rise to the basis of the modern day nation state based around a particular race, which the Western Roman Empire was decidedly not given its multicultural and multiracial makeup and civnat philosophy (citizen of Rome = based and equal, doesn’t matter if African, jewish or otherwise).
God judged Rome for essentially being a proto globohomo/Tower of Babel and separated it into separate languages and ethnic groups exactly as that story foretells. Pretty neat huh?
