Arachnid but not a spider. They are called camel spiders, wind scorpions, or apparently these days also sun spiders, but they're are properly know as Solifugaes. They live in arid desert climates in much of the world but are one of the few nightmare creatures that can't be found in australia, probably becuase there just scary looking and not actually dangerous enough for australia. Like 15-20 years ago there used to occasionally be some tall tale horror stories and forced perspective pictures of them making them look way bigger then they are that would crop up and get circulated online and in viral emails time to time from soldiers in the middle east where they'd occasionally crawl into peoples boots encountering the creepy bastards for the first time. They're in america too but only in the south west.
