Obviously I know that LA is a shithole, but I was looking at the LA "river" on Google maps today and couldn't believe what I was seeing.
There are these drains built into the walls of the river than I'm assuming let out runoff that collects from elsewhere. Picrel is one of the few I could find that was still exposed. The rest have all been taken over by the homeless and turned into makeshift homes. Genuinely like 80% of the drains above water level have some sort of tarp and plywood structure built around them.
