I think classic Venom is best most of the time but sometimes I do like the simplicity of no-mouth because it looks more like a mask and there is greater emphasis on the eyes emoting so it can be cuter. But the teeth can be cute too.
The shapeshifting I think has been in comics but I might be mistaken. It is good for people who like ahegao stuff and for when the artist wants to show more of the host or for horror factor but it does kinda look stupid sometimes and ruins the "costume" angle and makes the symbiote OP.

I forgot to say but yeah fighting game girls already have strong designs. I feel like there's something about them that allows artists to put them in a lot of different places. Also they are only about 20 years younger than most Marvel characters so they have a legacy of new designs and costumes.
