You're severely underestimating the importance of Amnesia. TDD is considered a cornerstone of survival horror on PC and one of the best horror games ever made. Its easily moddable nature and developer-led annual mod jam (last one was last year) spawns tons of fan-made content to this day. I suppose you got the impression that it's fotm sludge because lots of youtubers played it at the time, but besides that, it's a loved and respected series.
