I made a post in the main thread mention Gaim so it was on the brain. For what it's worth I do love Gaim but I haven't watched it since airing so I barely remember it. Gavv and Gaim both being Ga, both being food themed and both being relatively dark subject matters also gets compared a lot on Japanese twitter, from what I see.
