Didn't really like how that episode played out
Was glad Suga got brought back but they did nothing interesting with him, if he really is gone this time, they could've used anyone for that mindless zombie Bake really. Seeing Nylev do more was neat, that was the small highlight of the episode for me I guess.

I didn’t like him as a villain but goddamn what a waste. Why even bother? I would have just made that politican granute who was obsessed with dark treats into the corpse they use for this experiment. At least then nobody would have cared if they did him dirty like this.

I think my biggest issue with this show is how passive a lot of the characters are. Heroes just wait until the villains attack and villains just do what their superior tells them. Sometimes they do things on their own like Hanto exploring the worlds most obvious twist and Lango stalking people, but the majority of this cast just keeps being stuck in this loop of just fucking around til it’s fight time. So many of them don’t have many goals other than basic things like helping or hurting people, even Shoma’s snacking list is something that comes and goes. I wish they gave more of the cast unique goals and dreams they pursue so their confrontations are more interesting.

The one thing I dont like about Sachika is how much of a bystander she is despite being so close to the riders.
She has no real connection to the granute issue and is just a handyman helping out.

/m/ loves her because she isn’t involved like the previous reiwa heroines are but by this point she would’ve gotten a focus episode as a victim of the MoTW. it’s weird that she hasn’t been targeted yet

I don't know, I'm not feeling Gavv's endgame. It's not making me actively frustrated as most of the endgame arcs of the last few shows so it's definitely an improvement, but it doesn't feel climatic either. Like Shouma is finally fighting his siblings to the death but it doesn't feel cathartic, like a score is being settled. I understand Shouma is not really out for revenge specifically, but it also doesn't feel like he's doing too much progress in the protecting humans front either as his siblings for all intents and purposes are just wagies now, just stronger part-timers.

In fact it feels like the downfall of Stomach Inc is mostly due to Jeebh and the president being giant retards who randomly decided to implode a company that had a sustainable business going with retarded ideas of revenge or power grabs. It reminds me of Mike's death scene in Breaking Bad.

There is an issue of passivity in the cast but I do like the idea of Jeeph's revenge plan causing the self-destruction of Stomach Inc, considering it's perfectly aligned with the themes of the show.
Bocca moving for turning Earth into a farm in the last 10 episodes is certainly rather quick but I think that might be a result of Komura being more used to Sentai writing where it being mostly episodic and the last set of episodes ramping up the stakes is more standard?

I think Hanto is my favorite secondary from Reiwa. I specially like how he's been doing this arc as a character. Not sugarcoating things about Lakia's past attacks on humans. Actually digging for Shouma's mom and telling him as soon as he finds out about her family, even if he understandably struggled about the right moment to do it. Not forgiving the granute who kidnapped his mom but letting him go anyway. And breaking out of hypnosis all natty.

I wish the plot progression of this second half wasn't moving at such a predictable rhythm and very obviously telegraphed "this is the episode/two-parter where X character development happens" parts. The individual moments and resolutions aren't bad but it's not exactly compelling to watch when you can reliably predict how the episode is going to play out from the start

Its because Bocca and his daughter completely hijacked Stomach Inc and changed a personal battle between family into just another supervillain team vs heroes. Remove them and you would have a more cathartic endgame, not to mention more screentime for the Stomachs to develop. Instead of being unredeemable assholes for 90% of the show and then suddenly gaining depth just as they are about to die.

I think they pretty much have to do that otherwise you couldn't justify Gavv killing them if they were actually redeemed. Of course, they could just pull what they did with the "Wolf" and kill them after redemption but then you're sabotaging their final battles and the heroes if they don't get to show off decisively defeating them.

Yeah, I'm not really feeling Gaim's end game either. Even if it continues being this bad I still think I'll remember it as a fun show, but I am disappointed. I do really like Suga and I enjoyed his end in this, but the remaining villains aren't much, the President stuff could be interesting just kept as a side thing, but as a villain I've never enjoyed them too much. I can't wait for Lango Nii-chan to stand around a bit more and look at things and then not do anything.

Rakia's actor made me laugh in this scene, the way he looked at Shouma after tossing water into Hanto's face.

I made a post in the main thread mention Gaim so it was on the brain. For what it's worth I do love Gaim but I haven't watched it since airing so I barely remember it. Gavv and Gaim both being Ga, both being food themed and both being relatively dark subject matters also gets compared a lot on Japanese twitter, from what I see. Here's a webm of Hanto getting splashed so my post doesn't feel too off topic.

I'm at the point where I'm just ready for this show to be over. Komura really doesn't know how to keep up with herself after the first quarter and I don't know why anyone expected she'd suddenly become a competent writer when she's not doing Sentai.

Blizzardsorbet debuted against a Caking level opponent, so it wasn't ever clear that it was much stronger.

Blizzardsorbet isn't a permanent item and actually has limited duration. Also, many of its abilities rely on summoning Caking's weapon and mimicking its powers anyway, just with even more CG.

AND Caking just has a better design

So, it ended up favored by the staff.
