To tell you the truth, it isn't (the novel is tho). it was made ENGI studio (who isn't known for quality animation) and they shoved a whole volume into a 12-episode anime. The first episode was good then it went downhill from there. They also announced season 2 (since 2022) which i hope that they learned their lesson by now and will abide by the novel.
