Bots = money from adverts. It's why lolcows like pirate software rose in the ranks on youtube by riding its algorithm. Night media stars like Asmon/Hasan are also in the same boat. They exchange between 20-60% of the revenue with the company for 1-2 years of dedicated training/grooming to become these big stars.

Shitter only got rid of its own bots/algo for promotions but never bothered with external ones since adverts would leave entirely if they did not exist.
