>>105979457 (OP)Blessed pic. Good this will be a good thread, I can feel it.
Wow every contractor on the team is getting laid off next quarter.
>>105979287>So what are we even supposed to do to "earn" a living? You were supposed to have bought rural land and built a ted shack on it while you had the income so you could farm or start some other small business until the tech worker market improved.
Anyone heard of STL Staffing / STL ITSM?
>>105979532Prepare to work with jeets, they're going to replace them with H1Bs. Can you feel it?
You need to learn how to wrangle jeets.
I've gained additional jeet fatigue I didn't even know I still had the capacity for
Almost everyone I work with is a massive retard and have the attetion span of a toddler.
>>105979561Who are you kidding, I'm a fucking Zoomer in who's about to graduate in Germany.
>You were supposed to have bought rural There is no land to buy here, even if you have the moneys
>built a ted shackThere is no shed without permits
>while you had the incomeSee above. No considerable income.
>so you could farmThere is no farming without permits
>start some other small businessAlready doing so
>until the tech worker market improvedDo you think that that's going to happen ever again?
>>105979820What happened?
>>105979457 (OP)>ywnb this happygod fucking dammit
I work for bigpharma as a sysops intern and I have about $500 for training and a few months to fuck around and findout before I start my masters.
I like loonix and foss stuff because it's stupid easy with all the documentation. I am currently studying for AWS SAA but we don't use AWS here. Only Azure, winblowz and some random GCP stuff
What training/certs to go for?
>>105979829Team member decided to refactor my minimal API into a dozen different files for no reason. Now any change requires updating several layers of needless abstraction. This is thanks to the classic Hindu modus operandi of fake politeness to cover up railroading whatever change you want through, as I had been refusing it for weeks until he just did it and merged it anyway.
>>105979943It's so bizarre how they are smart enough to understand development concepts generally but simultaneously so dumb that they don't understand overhead created from blindly adhering to single responsibility principle. I don't understand it.
>>105979964Some people are able to learn very well but have low intuition so they can't inductively figure things out
thanks for the laughs anon, the last posts in the previous thread were funny af
>>105979262>zoomer shoots the messenger instead of understanding the message>zoomer is unable to think for a minuteyou've got a great future lmao
>>105979943Is there no one you could take this up to? If he's literally hurting the company, you should tell your superiors and explain the situation to them.
Just don't be racist in front of them, try to come off as understanding (concern trolling).
>>105979964It is literally in their best interest. It creates overhead that is annoying to everyone (who's competent) but not really hard to solve by anyone. Like rust, it is a perfect situation for retards that need to look busy doing shit and things that will look like hard technical stuff in code reviews and HR performance reviews.
They're playing the long game. And here comes the thing into play I've been telling everyone for years: Talk to your superiors about it, make them understand the situation. See something, say something; see the jeet, name the jeet.
>>105980021>They're playing the long game.Bro there's no fucking way this is some calculated plan. They're stupid and incompetent in 99.9% of cases, come on.
>team leads gets buttmad when I bring the fact that organzation is absolute shit
>teams call with the whole team
>couple of guys that have been working here for a year don't even know who their manager is
I didn't even bother turning off the cam or the mic to laugh
>>105980027idk anon might be on to something. They addictively love tediousness for tediousness' sake and hate the concept of efficiency.
>>105979457 (OP)Tech workers reminds me of sex workers, the euphemism for whores.
>>105980051well, we are sellouts and work for the highest bidder, so you might be correct.
>>105980039I think it's more likely that the vast majority of them come from a Java background and Java really lends itself to this dogmatic, must follow SOLID at all costs trap that a ton of retarded beginners fall into. Then they work in companies populated by other midwit jeets and nobody corrects their retardation and it just compounds over time.
>>105980027The downfall of the west thus far was the mantra
>ItS nOt mAliCe whEn YoU cAN aTtrIBuTe sTUpIditYYes, they can plan that far ahead, they just hide their cunning behind a mask of incompetence to completely sideline everyone.
Higher caste jeets aren't stupid, they just act stupid to fool you. You don't replace almost all FAGMAN CEOs with jeets by being actually stupid. You replace them with a retard-gambit by making everyone lower their guards until it is too late. It's the age old "suck upwards, shit downwards".
>>105980039I've seen it happen a few times. They even did it to me when I was 17 and working my first job as an intern at a startup.
>>105980075I'm a straight C#/Java dev and like most useful conventions, but there's something more to it. They straight up have no sense or intuition for inefficiency. They can't personally reason and be like "this is useless" they're just dogmatic. So I guess it's either genetic autism or something deliberately tedious.
>>105980081>You don't replace almost all FAGMAN CEOs with jeets by being actually stupid. They are the most populated country on earth and they have the lethal combination of 3 things:
>seeing tech work as a very desirable career field>cost/standard of living being low enough that they are a prime target for offshoring >considered to be """native""" english speakersIt's a numbers game. Out of 1.5 billion jeets, there will be some hyper-capable outliers and that's who reaches the CEO positions like Pichai et al for the most part. The average jeet working remotely for a western company has and always will be a barely functioning retard.
>>105980106At Uni I spoke to jeets that were doing doctorates in CS, physics etc so they obviously were not stupid. However once the convo veered out of their niche field it was like talking to someone with a 90iq. It's bizarre beyond belief. I have no idea how it's possible or why it's such a common phenomena with them specifically.
I have been rejecting women and trannies candidates for a year.
>>105980132holy fucking based. assume you're not making it so obvious that you're at any risk. keep up the good work.
>>105980125If we're going by the 5 factor model I'd say Indians are low openness, high extraversion
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Five_personality_traits
>>105980125>The average jeet working remotely for a western company has and always will be a barely functioning retard.I'm aware, it wouldn't be a problem if we only got people like Pitchai. But they go out of their way to take over all key positions of companies and stop hiring anyone but indians. And then they go ahead and start a fucking caste system within those companies, going as far as delegating lower castes to low level languages and gatekeeping high level languages for higher castes.
All the while funneling money back to india where they enrich their families by factors beyond a thousand.
It's similar to what china did in the 70's by opening the country for trade, just that the jeets are coming to the west this time.
I've ended emails to some jeet team members with "Please do the sneedful" a few times and nobody said anything
>>105980144I don't. First there are like 10-15 coding challenges to choose and I always go with the one they are probably less familiar with according to their resume. Before the coding challenge there are some techinical questions and I just try to make them nervous. I also know what my manager and boss want in terms of "culture" so I lay them trap questions just in case they actually know how to code.
Finally I just leave the "choice" to my manager.

I've never worked with pajeets, but judging by the above, I imagine high caste pajeets must be lazy and entitled af
>>105980256God made jeets as a joke

>>105980314>they probably ask the lower caste pajeets to write the modules in C while the higher caste pajeets write shitty python scripts that call the code that does the actual jobSpot on. Which is funny because lower castes a fucking retarded and cannot build the modules in C without screwing everything up. This right here is why jeet software fucking sucks. The shit on top looks fancy-shmancy because jeets at top program the UI in some JS-framework while the backend is falling apart, example: Windows 11.
>I imagine high caste pajeets must be lazy and entitled afI had the misfortune to work with both. Don't be fooled, they're both lazier than any other group of humans. The higher castes are just hypocritical about it.
>>105980323Are you sure?

>>105980528>You know it isn't necessarily the jeetness that makes you attractive it's more the "willing to work for 1/4 the pay" thing.I was writing a shitpost before about how I disguised myself as an Indian and asked for far less pay to score more jobs. I got bored and quit halfway but it did make me think how you could probably wrack up a heap of comfy jobs if you were to accept far less pay. The trick is make sure these are all WFH, that you take on multiple at a time and that each company gets what they pay for.
>>105980528How does one find jobs like that? I'd love to work remote from another country. Earning $90 to 110k would be a dream because SWE jobs are 60k max here. I'd even work two jobs full time because I don't need to leave my home often.

Does Kubernetes even make any sense in a modern cloud environment that can autoscale server instances easily? I get it for locally hosted servers where this is a hard job to manage as it kind of simulates what a cloud environment already is, but for my current organization it just seems like another needless layer of complexity. >With friends like these, you don't need enemiesapplies the most. They're absolute lolcows that don't get shit done.
>>105980782It's some very delicate chemistry. You need a team lead that is self motivated, ambitious, diplomatic, and not overly disagreeable (probably the most important aspect). He will serve as the primary "engine" of the team that keeps a high standard. You need a manager/PM that never micromanages and merely facilitates work and serves as a buffer between the engineering and product side so that cancer never seeps into the team.
I think these are the make or break components of any given team, the lead/manager dynamic. They need to know their shit and be active enough but also not be overly disagreeable or micromanaging.
>>105980850Interesting, wanting to do as little work as humanly possible and not giving a shit about the "rich westerners" that you're working with and fucking over is definitely a trait a lot of people herehave. The companies I've worked for have been decent enough luckily.

Is SCRUM common in software engineering and similar fields? I'm asking because its heavily shoved down my throat in college. Can't do anything without having to write down what you'll be doing beforehand and having a certain time frame to do everything. Its stupid because as someone who doesn't have years of experience I don't know how long something could last or what is plausible in actually developing within my given timeframe.

I realized this years ago but never bothered to do anything about it and keep on living in my own bubble. I think what i need to adress the most is my awful social and communication skills and the lack of basic relationship with other people IN PERSON.
I can wish for getting certs after certs, cranking out leetcode after leetcode, but my body is literally falling apart from arthritis and tendonitis because of decade of chronic stress that i caused myself. Damage from cortisol is very real and it will remove your willingness to just exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. There There are definitely better ways to cope like simply call out a bro and hangout with the guy, but instead i run away to PMO, youtube, and video games every time. I keep thinking my favorite internet animators and music producers are better than my fellow brownoids who can only either think about work or the government. But these fellow brownoids are all i have and they're the ones who can vouch for me and bring me work to do, and thus giving me access to money.

>>105988704>if there won't be juniors anymore, then how will there be seniors in the future?Once the bubble pops and the stock prices tank the survivors will be forced to hire everyone back and tech workers will live the good life again
Just don't get caught holding the bag, I've started reducing my FAANG holdings already
IBM had a 100% participation required "challenge" where everyone had to submit ideas for how an AI Agent could make their job "easier" (aka how it could replace them)
it's so over bros
>>105988736Bots = money from adverts. It's why lolcows like pirate software rose in the ranks on youtube by riding its algorithm. Night media stars like Asmon/Hasan are also in the same boat. They exchange between 20-60% of the revenue with the company for 1-2 years of dedicated training/grooming to become these big stars.
Shitter only got rid of its own bots/algo for promotions but never bothered with external ones since adverts would leave entirely if they did not exist.
>>105988736>Does Musk like it this way or does he not know?he literally introduced an AI bot that auto-comments on random people's posts. wtf do you think
>>105988737Boss kept pushing this proactivity shit so I got some gear at home and now I just work out on the clock.

>>105988810Yeah Iโm not a dyel, I require serious equipment not some 10 lb dumbbell like a Pajeet/woman
the real jobs are at AI start-ups and those can't afford to hire jeets
what the fuck are you waiting for? OpenAI/Anthropic are right there and hiring like crazy
I'm a PhD student in AI/ML. Why do I need to do for Meta to pay me $100m/year?
No seriously. What shit do I need to learn?
>>105989120I'm not a PhD student and not into ML, but I know people who work there. If you're going for dev roles, it basically boils down to two things
>can you get the interviewwhich based on what I know from the little info you provided, this is probably true
>can you avoid getting IQ filtered by the onsiteagain, this is probably true. Just do leetcode every day until you've done 300-500 problems in the major common patterns then do Meta-specific questions while you apply.
>>105989120PhD + years of real world experience in machine learning
You and me are on the outside looking in, we were born too late to be the โAI expertsโ getting paid tons of money.
>verification not rekuired
>>105989252he's making at least 1m/year for this
Turns out that in order to be an AI expert at my company I only needed to know a bit more than the next guy.
>>105989110>OpenAI/Anthropic are right there and hiring like crazythey're literally both physically far away and figuratively at a level of skill i do not possess
>>105987715>feetThat is not straight, that is abominable.
>>105989110>jobsLike what, posting fake shit on twitter to make people think "ai" is a thing so some bumblefuck retard gives your startup more investment funds?
>give Junior eng a talk three fucking weeks ago
>It's the easiest task on the board
>They drag ass just getting the project set up
>Finally set things to
>Another week to create a shit pr clearly written with AI that they didn't even test to see how it ran
>Leave comments for them to fix
>Another week and now they've fixed the original comment but decided to go bug bashing on shit nobody asked them to do
Fire all juniors. I now understand wanting to replace the idiots with AI. Especially if they're gonna spend a week just to use AI to do it wrong.
>>105989941You actual nigger keep hiring these people. Who's fault is that
>>105989120>Why do I need to do for Meta to pay me $100m/year?Make a startup and get acquired. Applications are dead. Of course in that space you're competing with hacks like me who just bought a copy of Karpathy's pytorch book.
>>105986748>I can wish for getting certs after certs, cranking out leetcode after leetcode, but my body is literally falling apart from arthritis and tendonitis because of decade of chronic stress that i caused myself. My body is somehow functioning well because I realized I was beginning to decline in my early 20s so I started supplements and meds. Can really recommend lutein zeaxanthin astaxanthin for eye health.
>>105989951Bitch you think I'm the hiring manager or was in the interview? It would have been a hard no and we should also fire whoever said yes.
>Adopt """Agile""" because ???
>Product manager still went to customer and promised features without consulting to see if it was feasible
>Now wants to review how feasible it is
>Just handwaves any blocking points
Hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh

>>105989995My company does use HR for hiring.
Senior devs screen resumes, do interviews, everything. We have never had to fire a junior in the 5 years I've been here. And it's not like we only recruit from top schools either. We just keep our our Karen's in the corner where they can't do any real damage and give them something unimportant to dawdle with every few months. Spread the word.
I'm feeling optimistic about work and outside of the work.
It's kind of weird and uncanny.
I have to move from docker-swarm to kubernetes for a side project because it's just too brittle and too much of a pain in the ass to scale replicas up and down based on any sort of complex logic in the actual codebase. I was using the docker api via portainer as a workaround but it's hacky and shit. All that time spent on getting swarm to work when kubernetes was the very obvious choice cause I'm a retard. Fuck me.
>>105990792>docker-swarmbro are you serious
>>105984215Where my IT degree chads at?
>>105990998I'd used docker a lot but never dealt with distributed stuff and it seemed easier to just use swarm then having to deal with kubernetes which I'd never touched. What can you do, live and learn and all that shit
>>105980277This is still true. You just went to a meme university, graduated with nothing of note on your resume, and can't solve leetcode mediums. If you're as autistic and white as you SAY you are, then this shouldn't be a problem.
>have to fill in doing onboardings because someone went on leave and another left the company
>onboarding one girl and one old (jewish?) man who was a tech retard
>girl was competent and able to follow along with my instructions for our retarded onboarding IT call with some conveluted instructions based on how the company is structured.
>but actually did really well on the call and HR says "man you're so good anon we're going to keep asking you to do this!"
>have actual other work to do
Well, it finally happened. I interviewed a fat tranny today. Luckily he flopped pretty badly so it was reasonable to recommend not hiring him.
didn't do very well on my interview today. well at least i'm a woman
