I don't. First there are like 10-15 coding challenges to choose and I always go with the one they are probably less familiar with according to their resume. Before the coding challenge there are some techinical questions and I just try to make them nervous. Does Kubernetes even make any sense in a modern cloud environment that can autoscale server instances easily? I get it for locally hosted servers where this is a hard job to manage as it kind of simulates what a cloud environment already is, but for my current organization it just seems like another needless layer of complexity. It's some very delicate chemistry. You need a team lead that is self motivated, ambitious, diplomatic, and not overly disagreeable (probably the most important aspect). Is SCRUM common in software engineering and similar fields? I'm asking because its heavily shoved down my throat in college. Can't do anything without having to write down what you'll be doing beforehand and having a certain time frame to do everything. My company does use HR for hiring.
Senior devs screen resumes, do interviews, everything. We have never had to fire a junior in the 5 years I've been here. And it's not like we only recruit from top schools either. We just keep our our Karen's in the corner where they can't do any real damage and give them something unimportant to dawdle with every few months. Spread the word.

I have to move from docker-swarm to kubernetes for a side project because it's just too brittle and too much of a pain in the ass to scale replicas up and down based on any sort of complex logic in the actual codebase. I was using the docker api via portainer as a workaround but it's hacky and shit. All that time spent on getting swarm to work when kubernetes was the very obvious choice cause I'm a retard. Fuck me.
