but for static areas, pre-rendered backgrounds offer much more in terms of detail, saturation, presentation, etc like dioramas from i-spy books
full of small secrets and designed to invoke curiosity and certain moods and thoughts
its not an unknown aspect or phenomena of graphic design, but definitely lost in our current age of video games
