First thing I do a fter getting a new PC is disable updates and the proceed to remove all this intrusive microsoft shit.
I had a $300 Lenovo as a college student. It ran faster and was much more stable than any of the four digit gaming notebooks my friends had, simply from not being force fed this crap.
There was some trial and error and I've bricked my machine twice but I've gotten pretty good at it. It's still a much more rewarding process than messing with a Linux distro. My current Laptop took me 30 minutes to "get in line" boots super fast and hasn't been updated in two years.
