I guess digital night vision is better than nothing, but if you can't drop a few thousand on a decent analog single tube setup you almost certainly have more important and impactful ways you should be spending your money in general.

My NVGs were an entirely superfluous disposable income purchase and it still would have been smarter to put the money in an investment or home improvement as these will sit in my closet 300+ days a year and not gain value.

I just think they're cool.
