The only reason to buy a Switch 2 at the moment, and probably until the end of this year at least, will be as an upgrade for Switch 1 games. I personally play games that don't require a lot of hardware (I play those on PC), so for me it made a lot more sense to buy a Hori Split Pad Pro (pic related) so I could use my Switch 1 again after the two Joy-Cons became basically unusable (drift, buttons sinking, disconnecting from the tablet all the time, R and L not working 75% of the time I press them, etc.).
I'll only consider the Switch 2 in 2 or 3 years, when the game library is more established. I would buy one to have a slightly better experience on Switch 1 games if it were $350 (Japanese price) at most, and if Nintendo weren't so anti-consumer (games for $80 is unacceptable to me).
