That's the thing though: There isn't any trolling happening.
What is happening is Freedesktop is making a series of extremely unpopular changes that is putting the entire Linux ecosystem in jeopardy and instead of anyone stepping back and examining what exactly is spurring the decision making process behind them, they're instead opting to scream about bigots, trolls, fascists, nazis. In hopes this unnatural pivot to politics and drama will make the whole thing go away.
Because despite being in tech, Brodie and associated Wayland and GNOME devs have never heard of the Streisand Effect. Or if they have, Brodie is trying to milk every last drop from it for videos.
