not sure if my mind is just poisoned by everyone else here being negative but the footy has been crap this year compared to even last year. last year the competition felt pretty balanced, outside of the bottom three teams it felt like each game was competitive. this year it feels like there's three contenders with collingwood generally being far better than the rest, but brisbane and arguably geelong are still in the mix despite occasionally playing absolute stinkers. the suns have had a piss easy fixture but even now theyre burning out and playing shithouse. the rest of the teams in the eight are flat track bullies who won't go far into finals. every team below that is just a joke or has been so raped by injuries their season is basically unrecoverable.
genuinely only watched my team play this round compared to earlier this year and even last year where i'd tune in to neutral matches. is it just me or is this a new low for the sport? i'm pretty new, only started watching a few years ago, but this has been the worst season yet.
