I mean I agree but I also think there is a level of Kris gets a sick sense of enjoyment from the weird route. They clearly aren't truly enjoying it, but there is just some deep suppressed part of them that loves it and they hate that part of them.
Eram calls out that there is just some part of Kris that
>"Enjoys this, the same part of you that enjoyed yesterday. Being able to say it wasn't you."
Eram also describes Kris as a knife, specifically,
>"The knife gets dull without play"
The whole point of the Eram fight is that Eram is trying to reawaken something in Kris, their violent tendencies, and by fighting Eram it says they saw it, flickering behind their eyes.
Kris was seemingly in art club as a form of therapy specifically FOR these violent urges,

In the weird route, by hurting and abusing Noelle, we reawaken that part of Kris, some sick part of Kris enjoys it, they probably HATE themselves for enjoying it, and try so hard to protect Noelle, but some part of them they suppressed for so long can't help but enjoy the thrill of finally seeing what would happen if they gave into those urges and also being able to say it wasn't them.
