Yeah this, since it isn't a huge scene people tend to know each other and the local regulars, so cheaters become known faces very quickly. It's a social hobby too, not a multiplayer lobby with randoms you'll never see again, even if you don't get outright banned from the local field nobody wants to deal with you and airsoft with the social component is pretty bleak. Not much different from hacking at a LAN party, you'll be found out and nobody will want to deal with you. But it depends a lot on the scene, being an ancient bastard I've seen a lot, our local scene was fucking terrible in the late 00's with constant nerd spergouts, infighting and cheaters all over the place. Nowadays it's a completely different beast, I dare say organizers in most fields are more competent than their paintball counterparts and players are civil. But I hear horror stories from foreign scenes, particularly Southern European and American ones of bad behavior like >>712995489 and cheaters being all over the place.

And then there's fags like picrel who think they can make a commercial paintball scene out of airsoft. Seems big gay to me.
