Several things to understand with this situation.
>A. Lead writer had become disillusioned with writing after his previous writing as lead writer was mocked, making him believe gamers don't care about writing quality

That being said, he was retarded for defending that stupidity, and being so flippant and curt to his customerbase, dude was a dumbass in that, and he got mocked non-stop for it. Also, their lead dev is often a retard, as evidenced by this event and his keep it simple stupid writing style, as talked about in his own dev talk.
