I also did not like alcohol before trying mead
beer tastes like shit
most grape wines are kinda meh (though I have tried some notable exceptions)
whiskey just tastes like medicine
rum tastes like kinda sweet medicine

but mead actually tastes good
it's most comparable to a grape wine in terms of alcohol content

sake tastes better than whiskey and rum, but I still think it has a medicine flavor

plum wine is very similar to mead and if you like one you'll like the other
