Here's the red pill regarding canon:
Canon only exists in the context of a series of works that directly depend on one another. For example, Awakening's "canon" regarding player variability (i.e. pairing choices, Robin's sex, etc) does not matter in the context of other works within the greater Fire Emblem canon since such things are never really referenced (outside of arguably Robin's default sex being male, but we see both Robins in Warriors and Amiibo Robin is specifically from the Smash Bros "canon"). As such, arguing over what's canon in Awakening is actually just retarded behavior, there literally is not an established canon until a possible sequel establishes one.
