They could easily fix the mana system by giving cards landcycling or making it easier for non green decks to get access to lands
As an example, Ambitious farmhand was a great card

but no, they have to make 1 and 2 mana drops that are threats that must be removed or else they carry the game and 4 mana drops that close the game when they hit the field because of 1-2mana creatures that carry the game
