Ya the cpu was pegged the whole time, and it takes like 3 minutes just to launch the thing, but such is trying to run the most current version of the game on a PC from 1999. (Honestly I probably should have tried running an older release, prehaps that would run better). I do have an XP build, but I know for sure thst runs fine, so no need to test.
Sadly I've built it from local things I've thrifted/found on Craigslist, so I don't have any easily repeatable tips aside from the fact the core 2 duo are chips are dirt cheap, but idk about the motherboards. Most windows 7 era parts are also mostly compatible with XP, might not be historically accurate, but it might be easier and cheaper to find.
