Went back onto the file and came to the telescope to check this view again (after getting a x3 Clam spin at the Resort first try and immediately leaving) and yeah the view is pretty limited. It stops with just a small bit of the left and right cactus-looking things in view when shifting focus around and you only ever see at once maybe 1/10th of this view.
