bf5 had a ~$400 million dollar budget, which means even if it sold 7.5 million copies at full retail price (actual sale price for half those sales: $4.99) it still would have been a massive financial failure even before you take into account the engine and store cuts

bf6 using gaydot is essentially an admission that the value of the IP has gone to shit, they're cutting every extra cost possible to try to extract the last few bucks they can off the name like a venture capitalist group buying up a dying mmo to milk the cash ship one last time
