I get the feeling this is just a desperate attempt at playing devil's advocate to get a conversation going, but on the off chance you are sincere let me say the following.

What other villains does she hug on a regular basis? Why doesn't she bend over backward to help Grimtrix when it's clear he has personal issues of being in the shadow of royalty? The second it's revealed why Cordelia hates Cedric, Sofia immediately sides with him despite the fact that the evidence appears to paint him in the wrong. There's tons of examples like this, many of which I can't remember off the top of my head without rewatching the whole series.

Sofia is particularly empathic when it comes to Cedric. Yes, she is a very kind person overall, but she really goes out of her way to help Cedric and comfort his chronically bruised ego time after time. Now, please note this does NOT automatically equate to romantic interest. It could simply be she pities him for being such a mess and feels he needs more help than most other people. But the constant hugging all the time makes it feel a tad more intimate (especially when you consider almost every time she hugs him, her face is plunged right into his crotch area due to their height difference lol).
