>Black Lagoon" author Rei Hiroe opened up about his battle with depression in a new interview. He stated that he believes the death of his ailing father and the intensity he put into working on the "Roberta's Revenge" arc, were some of the factors that led to his depression.

>The only thing I disliked about RBT was the release schedule and editor meddling (which he hated too), and the finished volumes do fix that.
It wasn't a good arc even with all the fixing in the volumes it just wasn't a great idea to center an arc around Roberta being some crazy whore and having two snot nose kids try to chastised a bunch of criminals being criminals, Hiroe always did a good job of balancing the straight edge shit with some grounded realism so things don't come off as too dour in the setting, the Yakuza arc is a great example of that despite how depressing it was. Roberta’s arcs were bland and uninteresting, they turned everyone into horror movie victims just trying to avoid her instead of being more proactive like fits their characters and its writing because more simplistic "muh dark and much light" that makes it hard to take seriously, Rock's final convo with Chang is great though and almost saves the arc in a way.
