I rewatched both the movie and the series recently. I still liked both, but while the movie flashed me like 20 years ago, I've felt at least some problems with the series. I don't know if it's the pace or the structure, but even though there's always something different happening and the general plot is moving forwards, I still got the impression of a basic <thing of the week>. Many problems got resolved too quickly with big jumps from one plot point to the other. Also the ending of the series is to somber in contrast to the rest. A happy end would have fit pretty good. Also Hitomi best girl
